The Concession Golf Club Real Estate
It is the golfers who will mostly wax sentimental on the concept that led to the development of The Concession Golf Club situated in the Bradenton-Sarasota border. The Concession celebrates the most sportsmanlike gesture of Jack Nicklaus in the 1969 Ryder Cup wherein he conceded a teo putt to Tony Jacklin to tie their match.
But more than its name paying tribute to such a historic gesture in the game, The Concession real estate provides many attractions for astute investors and home buyers. Among the prime advantages of the Concession homes for sale is the central location of the golf community. Lying just two miles off Interstate 75, only a few minutes separates the residents from the metropolitan areas of Sarasota and Bradenton, both of which have many venues for shopping, dining, and entertainment, in addition to centers for culture, arts, and sports. The fabulous beach attractions of Siesta Key are likewise easily accessible.
The Bradenton real estate scene is also enlivened by the golf community’s clubhouse, a classic colonial-style, 33,000-square-foot edifice hosting many wonderful amenities and facilities. Sporting a huge collection of golf memorabilia, the clubhouse boasts of lavish interiors, luxurious appointments, and spacious verandahs for members and guests to enjoy the pristine Florida environment. Member privileges available include access to facilities for fine and casual dining, card rooms, and private dining rooms. A pro shop and full-service locker rooms are also in the clubhouse, while in a nearby sports center, there are tennis courts, an outdoor pool, a spa and fitness center.
The Concession’s 18-hole, par 72 golf course is but fittingly designed by the combined talents of Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin. The layout certainly does justice to the fame behind these two golf greats with its superb development and conditioning. Set amid well-preserved native trees and other flora, the 52-acre course plays at 7,479 yards. No interior roads intersect the layout for uninterrupted play.
This course is the choice of Golf Digest magazine as the best new golf course in 2006. Practice facilities at the golf club are likewise so exceptional that the magazine counted it among the top 75 best practice areas in the US.
The Concession homes for sale available in sales listings are still few because the golf community is a relatively new development. What may be available are high-end options ranging from $2.5 million for a 6,000-square foot-home to a $6-million, 11,300-square-foot residence. Some home sites from $100,000 to $1 million may also be sales-listed, wonderful options to be part of a lasting celebration for golf.
